What Is the Red Heifer? A Biblical Requirement for Purity

The origin of the red heifer command is found in Numbers 19. God instructs Moses and Aaron to have the Israelites bring “a red heifer without defect or blemish and that has never been under a yoke.” This heifer would be slaughtered outside the camp and burned completely.
